Hello everyone, today MTGG is going to be covering a deck that seems to be catching on very quickly in the metagame. Some of you might not have seen Bant in the metagame until this deck! The decklist is expensive yes but its well worth it to build. I’ve played using the deck and its yet to lose!

Win Condition

So as I said this is a great deck. Its a aggro deck with subtle combo. For the most part when you get your hand you want to make sure you have at least 2-3 mana ramp cards. The next thing that is key to the deck is that you have Sovereigns of Lost Alara. The Sovereign is key to the deck without it the deck wont run as good. Once you get Sovereigns out there then it doesnt matter what you swing with just attack alone! Then Sovereigns of Lost Alara’s ability comes into effect go through your deck find a aura and attach it to that creature. So go find Eldrazi Conscription and put it on the attacking creature. So regardless they are will take some damage and they will sacrifice 2 permanent because of annihilator! This is the Win Condition of the Deck

Back-Up Plans

Most of you right now must be pretty skeptical about pulling this combo off. I was too at first but then I looked at the decklist again. Dauntless Escort is a very vital card for this deck. Why? Because he protects your creatures from cards like Terminate and Day of Judgement! Also if they have removal that Dauntless Escort cant protect you from sideboard in negate and deprive! This should help you keep your Sovereign and the equipped creature alive! If their deck is has too much removal that disables you from pulling off the combo then thats fine you have Baneslayer Angel and Knight of the Reliquary to help you out with killing your opponet!

This is a great deck and any Magic The Gathering player should be able to figure out how to play it but in case you don’t heres the rundown. The deck is all burn you want to destroy your opponent. There is a few tough choices in the deck though you need to learn whether or not you should keep that lightning bolt in your hand for a creature thats in the way or to bolt them. These are things you will learn with the deck the more you play with it. The original Blightning Wins Deck decklist is alot more expensive I tried to tone it down a bit to make it more on the budget for those of us who cant afford to buy a expensive deck. This was hard to do to keep the decks quality so its still expensive deck but well worth it.

Sideboard

I’ll explain why the cards in the sideboard are necessary before you think they don’t fit the deck. Quenchable Fire, perfect burn card against blue. Deathmark, even though there is burn to remove creatures with you rather use that on the players life, besides the amount of green and white decks that are played you will make use of this card. Goblin Outlander, perfect against white especially a way to get passed wall of omens.

This deck is my personal version of the Jap. Green deck originally ran by Ryuma Narumiya at the Japan National Qualifiers, where he scored a Top 8 victory and a slot in the Japan Nationals.

Win Condition!

The win condition for this deck is Overrun, Beastmaster Ascension, or Eldrazi Monument. Heck why don’t you just use all three at once for some impressive damage?!

Sideboard!

The sideboard contains Kozilek for the small smattering of mill decks still left in the metagame. (seriously who plays it anymore knowing that most people would have once of the 3 legendary eldrazi in there just to screw it over??) I chose him over Emrakul because at some points in the game if  i draw into him i can actually play him, whereas emrakul that would be impossible.

Pithing needle is for the ever potent UWR Planeswalker Control. There is nothing worse than a Gideon stale mate for this deck. Especially when they Day of Judgment during it. So throw these babies in and call out Gideon, Jace, Elspeth, or Ajani and you should be free to go.

Great Sable Stag you definitely Side in for Jund, as they can’t do anything about it, short of lightning bolts and siege-gang commanders. The only creatures that can block it in jund are the bloodbraid elves and Siege-Gang Commanders.

This is all in all a very fun deck to play. I would recommend testing it out for yourself and tweaking it to your hearts desire to where it fits your metagame needs.

Here at MTGG we have been working on a deck that will work consistently and be original in the  standard meta-game. We have been working a little over a month on this deck and have done some pretty hard play-testing and the results have been consistent. We have managed to make a deck that will work well in the meta-game and is something no one else is playing.  But, without further a do here is the decklist.

This deck will far well against any other deck in standard from the testing we have done. The perfect opening hand would probably be: Forest, Plains, Noble Hierarch, Ethersworn Canonist, Birds of Paradise, Basalisk Collar, Beastmaster Ascension. This hand lets you for a second turn Canonist and lock down your opponent from playing more than one spell a turn. this helps you set up your beastmaster ascension. I would advise you all to play this deck it is great deck and will only get better with the coming set Rise of Eldrazi and the new block Scars of Mirrodin. We would like help to get this deck noticed on the pro level of magic. But, we need your help to get it to the top. Today I decided I would review a deck list that is doing great in the meta game. Eldrazi Green is a awesome deck full of good cards taken it might be expensive but its hard to take down. Magic The Gathering Games will also have Worldwake for preorder in the MTGG Store so stay tuned.

Why Eldrazi?

So why put Eldrazi Monument in this deck? Well whats better than +1/+1, flying, and indestructibility for your creatures as long as you can give one up every upkeep? Its a great card and fits the deck perfectly.

Ant Queen is also fits the deck to help with Eldrazi Monument for its token producing at the end of your opponents turn pay your mana into Ant Queen and get your insect token so you can sacrifice it to Eldrazi Monument at your upkeep. You might ask how to get either Eldrazi Monument or Ant Queen out soon enough for it to help you win the game? Well look at the deck list at our good friend Elvish Archdruid. With Llanowar Elves and with Elvish Visionary you should be making enough mana soon enough to play your big cards, but if you need more help along the way the new planeswalker in Zendikar Nissa Revane will help you out by getting Nissa’s Chosen out for you and gaining life for the Elves on the battlefield.

Winning

So now you know how the deck works we need to work on the main thing of this aggro deck and thats bringing your opponents life down to zero. With starting the game out with your elves and then bringing out your Master of the Wild Hunt to make some more tokens there is several ways to win from there. The first way would be to draw into Garruk, the Wildspeaker and keep him alive for one turn to pull off his overrun last ability. The other way is of course with Eldrazi Monument giving your creatures and wolf tokens +1/+1 and flying this would help to kill your opponent very easy and fast

Zach here on Magic The Gathering Games I will be reviewing this great Red Black Vampire Deck List. In the standard meta game here at MTGG Matt and I have found that just Black Vampire decks are good deck but you can make the deck better by adding red this helps against fast decks like White Weenie and Naya Lightsaber.

Vampires Stronger In Numbers

Gatekeeper of Malakir-This Vampire is awesome when you pay the kicker for the good removal it is.

Vampire Nighthawk-This Vampire is great because its deathtouch, flying, lifelink, and 2/3 for 3 mana!

Vampire Nocturnus- Giving your Vampires +2/+3 and flying is awesome!

Malakir Bloodwitch-have 5 Vampires out? Gain that much life and make your opponent lose it

Removal

The thing I like most about this aggro deck is that there is alot of removal to deal with creatures like Broodmate Dragon in Jund decks.

Bituminous Blast-Removal and get to cascade and with this deck mostly being lower cost its always worth doing.

Terminate-Removal that cancels out regenerating is great.

Doom Blade-Another great removal card for 2 mana.

Battle Record

Black Red Vampire vs. Cruel Control

The deck handles Cruel Control decent in the first round my deck ran fast enough between all the Blightning and Vampire Nighthawk.  The second round I luckily won but the game was close after my opponent played Cruel Ultimatum. 2-0 WON

Black Red Vampire vs. Jund

We all know that Jund is the beast in the standard meta game and is hard to deal with. Although the deck has alot of removal it still couldnt keep up with the Jund deck both times it lost 0-2 LOST

Jund Aggro

The ominous cloud that looms over the current standard meta-game can be describe by one word, Jund! it’s the deck that everyone is playing and everyone else hates. We look for ways to bet it was to get around it, but today here at Magic The Gathering Games we analyze it.. That’s right folks, here is the breakdown on the Jund aggro for the first time here on MTGG.

The Powerhouse

Bloodbraid Elf- This card is just mean a 3/2 with cascade and haste. Is there anything it can’t do!

Broodmate Dragon- This cards is awesome two 4/4’s for 6 now that’s amazing!

Great Sable Stag – Can’t be countered and protection from blue and black. That works for me.

Putrid Leech- One of the staples of the deck its a great attacker and blocker.

Sprouting Thrinax- A great blocker, if he dies you get more blockers.

Removal

Bituminous Blast-  Great removal  and it has cascade.

Blighting- I love this card! Damage and discard all in one.

Lighting Bolt- 3 damage for 1 mana does it get better than that.

Maelstrom Pulse- This card can destroy a vast amount of things and remove any huge problems you have.

Resounding Thunder-3 damage for 3 mana and a nice cycling ability to.

Ways to Win

Spread Em’ – This deck beats Jund beacuse it locks down Jund’s mana  base and renders it useless

Naya Lightsaber- This deck beats jund because it just out aggro’s it.

As all of you know magic the gathering games first post was on the spread em’ deck list that seemed to be one of the best control decks in the standard meta game. This spread em’ deck list is a revised version Matt and I experimented with the deck and got this deck list which we think may be some what better than the original spread em’.

Spread Em’ Deck List

Mana Base

One of the main differences with this spread em’ deck list is that its mana base is alot different Matt and I thought a way to make the deck cheaper for people who cant afford all of the expensive cards in the deck was to put in the awesome tri lands from shards of alara. This makes the deck cheaper but also gives you more variety to put in the deck.

Spells/Creatures

One big thing we changed is that we added wolly thoctar to the deck to help for blocker against big aggro decks. The last big difference with the deck was that we added another awesome spell Naya Charm. We felt that naya charm would be good for it is all around a great charm its removal, prevention, and return all in one card (too bad you can only use one).

Cascade

The last thing we decided to change to the spread em’ deck was cascade. We noticed the amount of cascade in the deck was awesome and we thought that it would be fun to add some more to make some endless cascade deck. The other great thing that helps cascade is naya charm being able to play captured sunlight and then return it to your hand with naya charm to gain 4 more life.

Battle Record

Spread Em’ vs. Jund

This deck main enemy is jund because of jund’s fragile mana base. The deck won both rounds of the game the game was completely locked down for my opponent and he was aggravated by the deck. WON 2-0

Spread Em’ vs. Red Green Elves

Red Green Elves are fast and sometimes too fast. Both games they started out fast but once I locked down all his mana with spreading seas and convincing mirage and of course that allowed me to win the game. WON 2-0

Green/Red Elves

Want a deck with speed?  Want a deck that’s aggressive?  Want a deck that can beat Jund? Well then this deck might be for you!  This vicious version of an elf deck is quite fast. It features several of the power cards in standard and uses several planeswalkers. Although this deck is a little costly all in all its an amazing deck. I’ve seen this deck beat Jund plenty of times and that seems like what everyone is playing. I think this deck would be worth your time and money to play and experiment with.

The Powerhouse

Bloodbraid Elf – This card is just mean a 3/2 with cascade and haste. Is there anything it can’t do!

Nissa’s Chosen – It’s like an Elvish warrior that never dies!

The Mana Producers

Elvish Archdruid – It boost your elves and taps for massive amounts of mana!

Druid of the Anima -  This card taps for mana of both colors you need.

Llanowar Elves – The classic mana producer.

Card Draw

Elvish Visionary – This card is great to help speed up the deck.

Planeswalkers

Nissa Revane – Nissa is the best bet for any elf deck now. Her abilities are specifically tuned for them.

Garruk Wildspeaker – Perfect for this deck not only is he a walking overrun, he helps speed up your mana.

Sarkhan Vol – Another great choice he can haste your creatures to help the aggro.

Chandra Nalaar – Chandra is great for removal she can burn your opponent or their creatures.

The Deck Test

Elves -Vs-Vamps

The elves vs vampires games we played were pretty close. We played three game sand I won two out of the three. The speed of this deck was jsut fast enough to get through before he could establish the game winning board position he needed. First game i dominated by fourth turn he was under ten so I felt good about that. Second game he won. I was mana screwed and jsut wasn’t seeng the cards i would have liked. Thrid game was pretty well a repeat of the first no chance for the vamps really.

Elves  -Vs-  Naya lightsaber

Once again these where close games and I really enjoyed them. I won again but the games were close. Thje first game there was no competition I won because he was mana screwed quick game and we moved to the next. Second game I lost because well he had the speed on his side and I wasn’t able to quite keep up seemed like I was a step behind the whole game. I just didn’t see what I needed. third game we both played well but i got out the archdruid second turn and was producing massive mana after words and just kept cranking from there.

Elves  -Vs- Spreading Seas

Well finally a deck a blew way. With most the mana in this deck being green and it having very stable mana base, there was no chance for the seas deck to lock me down. I destroyed them both games. they tried to lock down a few lands but as soon as i got out the archdruid each game it was over. That’s all there as to it.

The first thing I like about the deck I made is that it is inexpensive. With a tough economy its hard for some of us to get the money to make a good deck. The other thing I like about the deck is its a white deck. White has one of the most strongest cards in the standard meta game right now.

The Weenie in “White Weenie”

The deck is good because it is fast you can, you can almost always do something on your turn. The deck is fast and strong so it can take alot and then throw it back at you.

The Cards

Elite Vanguard: for one white mana you can throw down a 2/1 thats not bad at all.

Steppe Lynx: landfall it makes the little Steppe Lynx a huge beast.

Kor Skyfisher: this is good to use with Steppe Lynx if you dont have a land to lay for the turn and plus flying

Power Cards

Honor of the Pure: The card is amazing it makes your creature huge when you have more than one out but +1/+1 can give you major advantage sometimes and make the win condition of the deck.

Emeria, the Sky Ruin: This card takes care of those doom blades that are killing your Kazandu Blademaster or Steppe Lynx after you have seven or more plains you can also use the Kor Skyfisher to bounce back mana you dont have.

Elspeth, Knight-Errant: One of the most strongest planeswalker in standard its self explanatory why

Remvoal/Protection

Path to Exile: In my opinion the best removal in the standard meta game even though it has a drawback from the land as fast as it is it wont matter that much.

Brave the Elements: This card helps against some burn cards like Hellspark Elemental and Ball Lightning, The card also helps against Jund whenever you can set off Garruk the Wildspeaker.

Battle Record

White Weenie vs. Jund

Well in the first round I had 2 White Knight out so it helped against almost all of the Jund cards and it protected them from Maelstrom Pulse and it made me win. The second round I couldnt top deck into any removal or protection cards at all so I was in trouble and lost. The last round was a intense game and I came out on top.-WON 2-1

White Weenie Vs. Naya Lightsaber

At first I thought I was gonna win then he laid down Wolly Thoctar 3rd turn then the game got harder I end up top decking into 3 Kor Hookmaster so I could keep the Wolly Thoctar tapped for awhile but when Baneslayer Angel came out it was too much to handle. The second game went around the same way. LOST 0-2

White Weenie vs. Blue White Control

I had board advantage early of course but in control they didn’t have much out anyway. The deck was annoying with counters and so on but there wasn’t much aggro to take me out I assume the deck had Baneslayer Angel in it but I didn’t see it. The second round went about the same way just more counter. WON 2-0

So all in all the deck is pretty good I would give it a shot if your looking for a fast deck to play. Thanks and keep checking Magic The Gathering Games!
